Carry On 04:31
There were days I could rest my head on your shoulder Count the ways we were getting so much bolder There were times we walked the misty streets together The words and rhymes floated down light as feathers But those days are gone These days I do my best to carry on There were nights that seemed to last forever Till the morning light would reveal all in its splendor There were times that nothing mattered Except your touch, your smile, your kiss, your laughter Now those days are gone These days there’s just these memories to keep me strong There were signs our good fortune couldn’t last forever. But for a while fate smiled on us here together All the times that nothing mattered Except your touch, your smile, your kiss, your laughter But in our race with father time We couldn't slow down the hands racing around the dial In our race with father time We couldn't slow down the hands racing around the dial Yeah those days are gone These days all that's left is to carry on All that’s left all that’s left is to carry on

Jimmy Jimmy you’re a blast to watch From girl to girl just like a spinning top First they love you then they love you not Say you’re feeling blue Judy Judy you’re such a mess Got left standing there in your wedding dress With the cake all cut, the thankyou letters addressed Now what you gonna do? Cuz nobody’s going to love you Nobody’s ever going to love you No No No Nobody’s ever going to love you Like you really oughta love yourself Now Jimmy and Judy they were destined to meet A couple kids later neither’s feeling so sweet Thank god she’s got her big TV And he’s got his sports bar downtown Cuz nobody’s going to love you Nobody’s ever going to love you No No No Nobody’s ever going to love you Like you really oughta love yourself You know your insignificance might just be the key That locks you up or sets you free A walk by the river in the gentle breeze Will help you find that heart that’s true Cuz nobody’s going to love you Nobody’s ever going to love you No No No Nobody’s ever going to love you Like you really oughta love yourself You know you really oughta Yeah you really oughta Yeah you really oughta Why don’t you do it now.

You’re sitting there crying say you don’t know why Got that thinking about leaving look in your eye What the hell is wrong tonight Not even sure I want to know why this time This time………This time Watch your step on this rocky road I’m doing my best so that we don’t fall But if you want to run away I can’t promise that I’ll say please stay this time This time…This time..This time Wind and Rain, Stones and Fire Can’t keep me satisfied I need your touch, need your desire I need your sweet little hand in mine In mine….this time. Watch your step on this slippery slope I’m doing my best to share the load If you want to leave, you better know That I might love you enough to let you go Let you go…This time Wind and Rain, Stones and Fire Can’t keep me satisfied I need your touch, need your desire I need your sweet little hand in mine In mine….in mine If you want to leave, there’s something you better know That I might love you enough to let you go Let you go…This time

I want to fall asleep like this In your arms like this Like this like this I want to wake up like this Oh so close like this Like this, just like this Waking to the morning light Lying there wondering why This is so easy to forget I want to walk the streets like this Under crimson clouds your kiss your kiss Lying on our backs like this Laughing at the stars so far out of reach Like this, just like this. Beautiful Venus shining so bright You ask where The wonder goes We stand and share a smile I take your hand And into the night we go Into the night Into the night We go Into the night Into the night Into the night Where the wonder goes I want to fall asleep like this In your arms like this Like this just like this Like this like this

Beauty fades, I see it’s getting you down Just remember all the years the fellows lined up to polish your crown Resting on your laurels never seemed to be your game Don’t let anyone say all that’s left is your victory lap of fame He may be a bit long in tooth and nail But he’s a gentleman darling, still a bit of hair, hardy and hale Ready to take you dancing downtown Dry your eyes, fix your makeup, lose that sad frown Cuz there’s a price you may have to pay one day For all the pills and late nights singing karaoke But there’s still time to dance the night away Yeah dance the night away Beauty fades, don’t let it get you down You’ve been the queen of the best little snack bars in this holiday town Now is no time to relinquish your reign Don’t let anyone say all that’s left is your victory lap of fame Cuz there’s a price you may have to pay one day For all the pills and late nights singing karaoke But there’s still time to dance the night away Yeah there’s till more time to dance the night away Beauty fades, but it never disappears You’ve been feted dated and rated now for many a long year Now is no time for bitter tears in vain Don’t let anyone say all that’s left is your victory lap of fame Don’t let anyone say all that’s left is your victory lap of fame

I got a few dollars but I’m short on sense Cuz I’ve been dying to see you again It’s good I got my friends Talk me out of trying Cuz you didn’t treat me so well But I tell myself what the hell There ain’t nobody that’s ever loved me The way that you did And it’s for the better I know That you finally had to go But could you please return my heart and soul And some of the minor appliances Where did I go wrong How can I move on When I’m not really sure why You said goodbye Goodbye Why why baby, goodbye? I’d love to see you again I guess that shows to what extent I ain’t even started to find my way again without you Newspapers all out on the lawn Sinks full of dishes since your gone And I just can’t seem To give a damn And it’s for the better I know That you finally had to go But could you please return my heart and soul And some of the minor appliances Where did I go wrong How can I move on When I’m not really sure why You said goodbye Where did I go wrong How can I move on Could you just tell me one more time Why you’re saying goodbye Goodbye Why why baby, goodbye

I give thanks for this breath Thanks for this day I give thanks for this chance To live, love and play I haven’t always known Which path to take Sometimes my wandering feet Had to find their own way Chorus Cuz whatever you want Whatever you need Could be there Right up your sleeve And when the dust settles and that breeze comes through You might find yourself Free of the Blues Free of the Blues I haven’t always known Into whose arms to run Sometimes my wandering heart Had to make its own luck I give thanks for the dark Shadows and dreams I give thanks for all you people Who put up with me hahaha Cuz whatever you want Whatever you need Could be there Right up your sleeve And when the dust settles and that breeze comes through You will find yourself You will find yourself Free of the Blues Free of the Blues

about

My idea is to create a bit of fusion between my interests in Latin dance music and folk/rock music.

Two of the songs “Carry On” and “Love You Enough (Bachata)” are distinctly Latin style songs done with a Washington D.C. producer and band leader Leonardo Garcia y Son Horizonte.

The other songs are folk/rock tunes produced by Eric Butterfield in Sonoma, California and Billy Ziogas in Kastoria, Greece.

If you like romantic ballads, I recommend the title track “Just Like This”.

Two esteemed local Kyoto musicians, Gary Tegler on sax and Dale Ward on acoustic guitar, play on the last Jazz/Blues track “Love you Enough”.

A late addition to this album is the last track - Free of the Blues. Produced by - Andrés Alzate “El Burrito Music” Recorded at - Ultrasonido Estudio – Colombia

Thanks for listening! If there is a song you particularly like, let me know.
